Engineered for Depth

Designed and built by Shawn Kessler in our Nevada City studio, this piece is a feat of engineering:

• Cellular Isolation: A physical grid of opaque acrylic barriers inside the wood. This ensures that light doesn't "bleed" between cells, creating crisp, high-definition patterns that look like digital stained glass.

• 3D Mapping: The LEDs aren't just a string; they are mapped in 3D space. This allows for "sweeping" effects that travel across the hive naturally, rather than just flashing in a line.

• Material Contrast: The laser-cut hardwood face in two different wood tones and two different acrylic opacities provides a striking contrast and depth.

Smart Technology & Control

• Sound Reactive (Standard): This piece excels at visualization. The built-in microphone picks up ambient sound, turning the grid into a real-time equalizer that dances to the beat. But only if you so choose.

• WiFi Dashboard: Connect to the interface via your phone or computer to access over 100 effects. Customize color palettes to match your mood.
